We are thrilled to announce the launch of our inaugural year for the Director Training Internship program at Refugio de Esperanza in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and the introduction of our very first Director Training Intern, Samwell. HOH Bolivia Director, Marco (pictured above on left) greeted Samwell (pictured above on right) at the airport this past August. Hailing from Belize, Samwell recently arrived in Bolivia to embark on his year-long internship journey.
The primary aim of our Director Training Internship program is to provide a unique opportunity for students and young professionals to acquire hands-on experience in the management of an international orphanage, guided by the mentorship of one of our esteemed Bolivia Directors, Marco Aldana. With a background in finance and years of experience as a Director for Haven of Hope Bolivia, Marco brings a wealth of experience and an in-depth understanding of all aspects of orphanage management and programs that help children, including our trauma-informed care model, operations, financial management, sustainability, and more! His expertise makes him the ideal mentor to impart valuable insights on the intricacies of running an international orphanage, emphasizing the highest standards of care to the next generation.
As some of you may already be aware, we also have a general Internship program at Refugio de Esperanza. This program is designed for college students and recent graduates majoring in Mental Health or Education, offering them the opportunity to enrich their studies through participation in a semester or year-long internship.
Samwell’s participation in our Director Training Internship program was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Denver United Methodist Church of God.
