At Haven of Hope International, we believe every child deserves a loving and supportive environment. The story of three resilient siblings at our partner home, Refuge of Life in Pucallpa, Peru, epitomizes the transformative power of our mission.
The journey of these children—nine-year-old twins and their eleven-year-old sister—began with heartache. Their mother tragically passed away during childbirth, and their father abandoned them soon after. The authorities found the eleven-year-old acting as the primary caregiver for her infant sisters, who were severely malnourished.
Initially placed in another home in Pucallpa, the care they received was inadequate due to the overwhelming need and limited resources in the region. Thankfully, these courageous girls were brought to Refuge of Life, where they finally received the love and care they desperately needed.
Since arriving at Refuge of Life, the twins have thrived, becoming leaders in their class and excelling academically. Their older sister is also doing remarkably well, benefiting from the nurturing and structured environment. For the first time in their lives, they have the opportunity to attend school regularly, opening doors to a brighter future.
These siblings' transformation is a testament to the impact of our sponsors. The loving environment at Refuge of Life has given them hope and stability, fundamentally changing the trajectory of their lives.
