December marked a significant step forward for Haven of Hope International and the Orphan Care Training Institute to answer the demand for training. With the launch of OCTI on the SKOOL app, our training ministry is entering a new season of accessibility, growth, and long-term impact for orphan care providers around the world.
For years, HOHI has been committed to strengthening orphanages through training, coaching, and financial support. We believe children deserve more than shelter. They deserve caregivers who are equipped to understand trauma, respond with wisdom, build trust, and create homes where healing can take root. The launch of OCTI on SKOOL allows us to expand that mission in a powerful new way.
Through this platform, OCTI can now share their library of courses on demand. Each course contains training videos, downloadable workbooks, practical assignments, and proficiency quizzes to help learners not only hear the material but apply it. This means directors, caregivers, house parents, social workers, counselors, teachers, and ministry leaders can access training when they need it, review it as often as necessary, and introduce it to new team members as they join the work.
The first Core Course to launch on the platform is 2026 The Peace Model. In January, more than 120 caregivers and directors will log in through live video conferencing to participate in this foundational training. Over six sessions, participants learned how to create a model of care that promotes safety, belonging, healthy discipline, and Christ-centered caregiving. Now that the live sessions have been completed, the full course is available on demand for new learners and for those who want to review and strengthen what they have already learned.
This is more than a technology upgrade. It is a ministry multiplication tool. It enables us to follow up with caregivers and leaders that have attended one of our multi-day Thrive Training Conferences in Bolivia, Global Church Network Summits in Fiji and Uganda.
Many orphanages around the world face daily challenges with limited resources, overwhelmed staff, and children who come into care carrying deep wounds. While HOHI may have limitations on direct financial support, we can provide something vital: training that raises the standard of orphan care until we can secure funding. We are empowering caregivers to move from simply managing behavior to understanding the heart behind behavior and we can equip directors to build healthier teams. We can provide tools that help homes become places of peace, healing, and restoration.
OCTI currently has directors and caregivers in more than 24 countries. With this on-demand platform, the reach continues to grow! A caregiver in Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, or beyond can now access the same core training, practical language, and ministry framework that has been taught live to leaders around the world.
The launch of OCTI on SKOOL is a major milestone in Haven of Hope International’s mission to rescue, love, restore, and equip.
