Neema is a precious and brave young lady currently in California, waiting on the deceased donor list for a kidney transplant.
WHO IS NEEMA?
She’s a brave and bright young girl in urgent need of a kidney transplant. She has been in the US getting stronger physically under the incredible care at UCSF, while waiting for a kidney transplant. She was rescued by Matonyok Children’s Home in Arusha, Tanzania and diagnosed in kidney failure the end of 2023. Her health was rapidly failing.  Dr. Peter Stock heard about her story and flew her to California. The team at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital has gone above and beyond to get her strong enough for a kidney transplant.
WHY THIS IS URGENT:
- She has returned to Tanzania – there are no kidney banks in Tanzania
- There are no pediatric kidney transplant hospitals in Tanzania
âś… HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We’re looking for people who are simply willing to be evaluated as a potential live kidney donor. This will greatly increase her odds of receiving a kidney donor match by giving her access to a “live” donor kidney bank.
Being “willing” means:
-  Complete a confidential online form (list “Neema Kivuyo” as your intended recipient)
-  Pass a medical screening for eligibility – starts with bloodwork locally.
- Â Your name is on the list as a possible donor - No kidney is donated unless a match is found for Neema
Once approved, Neema gains access to the national “live donor” pool — drastically increasing her chances for a match!
🌎 IF A MATCH IS FOUND:
- Neema’s doctors a UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital will determine if she will return to the US for surgery or if they will travel to Tanzania to perform the surgery there.
- A life will be saved — because someone said “I’m willing”
✨ THE IMPACT:
A successful pediatric kidney transplant for Neema will provide hope for other HIV-positive children in Tanzania who currently have no access to life-saving transplant care.
🙏 WILL YOU CONSIDER BEING WILLING?
Even your willingness could open the door to the miracle Neema needs.
