Safety and Security at Operation Smile Children’s Home

At Operation Smile Children’s Home in Poona, Trinidad, it has been a season of growth, blessing, and new beginnings. With eight precious children now calling Operation Smile their home—two girls and six boys—our hearts are full as we continue to create a safe, nurturing environment where each child can flourish.

Recently, we were deeply blessed by a visiting work team from Denver whose love, energy, and generosity left a lasting mark on both our home and our children. Their contributions have strengthened not only our facilities, but also the sense of security and opportunity that every child deserves.

Fencing Project: Safety and Security for the Children

Thanks to the hard work of the Denver team, our fencing project is nearly complete. The wire has been securely installed around the field, and casting is progressing well, weather permitting. Once finished, the entire compound will be fully enclosed, providing greater safety and peace of mind for all.

This improvement ensures that our children have a safe environment to play, learn, and grow. The ability to run freely and enjoy childhood without fear is a gift, and we are grateful for this lasting investment in their well-being.

Embracing Each Child with Love

Operation Smile has been receiving children for several months, and each arrival fills our home with renewed purpose. While there is significant government interest in reintegrating children with family members when possible, this often means that we do not know how long a child will stay with us. For our faithful child sponsors, when a child you are sponsoring leaves we will quickly shift your support to another child on the campus. Rest assured your investment will continue to impact children.

We are thankful for every day we have with each child and for every opportunity to show them the love of a family. We also ask for your continued prayers for those who return to their families, as these transitions can sometimes bring challenges and concerns.

Together, we are building a safe place for children to heal, grow, and dream
