It is an exciting time at Watu Wa Maana, our partner home just outside Nairobi, Kenya, led by the faithful leadership of Wanjuri Kanyoni. God is moving, and so much is happening on the ground that we cannot wait to share!
The Paul Cecere Dream Center – Construction Underway
Construction is progressing beautifully on the Paul Cecere Dream Center. The foundation is already poured, and site preparations are nearly complete as we prepare to welcome a team in September, led by Pastor Dean Ramsey, to raise the walls. This Dream Center will not only bless the children of Watu but also transform the surrounding community as a hub for vocational training and skill development.
At Haven of Hope International, we are actively promoting and raising funds to ensure this vision becomes a lasting reality. It’s not too late for you to make an investment in this great project and be part of a legacy that will impact generations to come.
Growing Stronger Through Training
Even as construction advances, the staff at Watu remain strong and committed. Every week, they attend Zoom training sessions with John, sharpening their skills as trauma-informed caregivers. This summer, they completed the 5-Steps to Behavioral Change training, equipping them to guide children through healing and positive growth.
Alumni Giving Back
One of the most inspiring recent moments came when a group of Watu alumni returned to campus. Their purpose? To show gratitude, inspire current residents, and serve a meal for the entire campus. The day was filled with testimonies of transformation, highlighted by Ann Mutio, now a police officer, who preached a powerful message of hope. Their stories remind every child at Watu that their future holds promise.
Investing in Education
During the August holiday break, Watu residents took part in an intensive tutoring program. With some students struggling academically, the program provided daily sessions from 9 AM to 1 PM with scheduled breaks. This intentional effort reflects Watu’s commitment to ensuring each child has the tools to succeed in school and beyond.
A Season of Hope
From new construction to alumni encouragement and education support, this is truly a season of hope and growth at Watu Wa Maana. The Dream Center is a vision becoming reality, and the children are thriving with the guidance of dedicated caregivers and community support.
We invite you to join us in prayer, in support, and in giving as we help Wanjuri and her team continue to bring hope to children in Kenya. Together, we are building dreams that will last a lifetime.
