At Matonyok Children’s Home, we believe that every opportunity to learn and grow—whether for our children or our staff—strengthens the foundation of hope we are building together. Over the past months, we have been blessed with several key visits from partner organizations who share our vision for transformation.
DUSAFO Organization Visit
August 15, 2025, we were honored to welcome the DUSAFO Organization after they graciously
accepted our invitation. Their purpose was clear and impactful: to build capacity and raise awareness about the critical issue of Violence Against Children (VAC). Through their engaging training sessions, both our children and staff gained deeper understanding and practical tools to create safer environments. The visit also reinforced the power of collaboration between DUSAFO and Matonyok, reminding us that together, we can stand stronger against the challenges facing vulnerable children.
Dunia Salama Foundation Training
Earlier this year, the Dunia Salama Foundation joined us for another important training. Their visit brought insight and encouragement, equipping our staff and children with knowledge and strategies that continue to make a difference in daily life. We are grateful for their commitment to walk alongside us in this mission.
World Vegetable Centre Collaboration
Agriculture is not only a means of sustenance but also a pathway to empowerment. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a team from the World Vegetable Centre. They introduced our children and staff to practical training focused on traditional vegetables and sustainable farming. This hands-on learning experience has been both eye-opening and empowering, offering long-term skills that will serve our community for years to come. We sincerely thank the World Vegetable Centre for their productive training and friendly collaboration.
A Family Update - Neema’s Journey
Alongside these encouraging moments at Matonyok, our hearts have been deeply touched by the journey of Neema. Emmy and Brian traveled to San Francisco to escort her home after a significant stay for medical care. We are grateful to report that Neema has improved enough to come home. She is doing well as we continue to wait in hope for a kidney donor. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she bravely walks this journey toward healing.
At Haven of Hope International and Matonyok Children’s Home, we see every opportunity for training, every act of kindness, and every partnership as an investment in brighter futures. With your continued support and prayers, we will keep working to provide children not only with asafe place to grow but also with the tools and hope they need to thrive.
