On March 19, 2023, a beautiful moment unfolded on the campus of Haven of Hope Bolivia as we dedicated and cut the ribbon for Emma’s Echo Internship Center — a building created in loving memory of Emma Bullock.
This new center stands as a symbol of Emma’s enduring spirit and the power of compassion to transform lives. More than just a building, Emma’s Echo represents a commitment to shaping brighter futures. It will serve as a hub for our Internship Program, offering young people the opportunity to develop valuable skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for independent living — all while carrying forward Emma’s legacy of kindness and service.
Being built in honor of Emma Bullock’s life and love for the children at our Refugio de Esperanza Home, the Center is a second-story addition to an existing building on campus. It will be used to house college interns pursuing degrees in Psychology and Education who desire to use their education to help orphaned children. Our hope is that they will be deeply moved by the restoration they witness and choose to continue giving back to orphans throughout their professional careers — creating a lasting echo of Emma’s heart.
In a touching tribute, the center was lined with ribbons that carried the names of donors whose generosity made this vision a reality. Their support echoes Emma’s compassion and ensures that her impact will continue for generations to come. Any funds raised beyond construction costs will provide intern scholarships for deserving students, further expanding the reach of this life-changing initiative.
With Emma’s Echo Internship Center, we are one step closer to achieving our dream of a state-of-the-art campus that equips children — and those who serve them — to thrive not just today, but for a lifetime.
